Umami from Scratch | Divyasha (aka Divs) | Vegetarian and Vegan Recipes

Hello there, thanks for visiting my website. I grew up in India around lots of experimental food by my Mum - a tenacious home cook, French Dessert and Chinese bread lover. I moved to the US in 2015 for my Grad School at University of Chicago, and over the years between several day jobs in Finance, I realized that cooking and baking is what gives me Joy. I wake up in the middle of the night to scribble flavor / ingredient combinations for new recipes, no kidding!

Bread making is my ideal form of meditation. A touch of cardamom in all sweet recipes is my signature move. I'm hopelessly obsessed with Tahini-Dark Soy-Maple Syrup flavor combo. I love dumplings, noodles, bubble tea, all types of cheese, endless cuddles with my fur-baby and cooking for people. Other than bananas, mangoes, brownies and candies I eat pretty much anything that’s Vegetarian and have a deep-rooted love for anything citrus!

All things I create are inspired by - my mum’s mantra of “no fixed rules in kitchen”, my husband’s love for all vegetables, my love for NYC and my favorite chef Yotam Ottolenghi.
